The leader in transportation technology honored in inaugural awards program, recognized for innovation and positive impact on the food supply chain
GREEN BAY, WIS. – AUGUST 12, 2022 – Breakthrough, a leading transportation technology solutions provider, has been recognized as a 2022 “Top Food Chain Technology” by Food Chain Digest, the official magazine of Food Shippers of America (FSA).
FSA’s Top Food Chain Technology program highlights standout technologies in food transportation, logistics, distribution and supply chain management. Breakthrough was recognized for its contributions to the industry through its suite of transportation management solutions, including Fuel Recovery, Network Intelligence, Capac-ID, and CleanMile. Collectively, the suite of solutions empowers food shippers with exact fuel reimbursements, linehaul rate and partnership guidance, recommendations that uncover network inefficiencies, and scope 1 and 3 transportation emissions reduction.
As part of the awards program, more than 1,500 supply chain, transportation, and logistics professionals in the food industry voted for the nominated companies that had the strongest reputation and value in the food chain technology segment. Winning over both the voters and the judging panel, Breakthrough was recognized and named to the inaugural list published by Food Chain Digest.
“We’re honored to be recognized among some of the food industry’s leading supply chain technologies,” said Heather Mueller, chief marketing and product officer at Breakthrough. “At Breakthrough, we are committed to providing technology and insights that not only allow food shippers to make informed business decisions with data, but also help make corporate sustainability goals a reality. Looking ahead, we’re proud to be continuing on our mission to deliver innovative solutions for the world’s leading shippers.”
FSA brings together a community of supply chain and logistics professionals from the food and beverage industry and their suppliers to facilitate education and networking opportunities and enable supply chain efficiency improvements. According to Everett, this is the first year that Food Chain Digest has deployed this recognition program as an initiative to serve as a resource to food shippers seeking new opportunities to leverage technologies in their supply chain strategy and execution.
“Technology has become the backbone of the food supply chain,” said Brian Everett, group publisher and editorial director of Food Chain Digest. ”Technology platforms, applications and innovators have emerged in the food and beverage market to help bring more efficiency, productivity, and transparency to the food chain. The Top Food Chain Technology program highlights leaders like Breakthrough that are readily available to food shippers in helping them to accomplish their business goals.”
