Florida Film Funds LLC (FFF) announced further expansion of its Production Board with the addition of Eric Gaunaurd, owner of Paradiso Pictures, a full-service creative production company headquartered in Miami. The company maintains partnerships in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Bogota.
With funds established in South Florida and the Tampa Bay Area, FFF intends to become a reliable source of capital for independent feature films and limited episodic television projects that want to shoot in Florida. The Production Board has overall responsibility for project review and selection, making it the key component in the financing process.
“We are assembling a strong core of Florida-based film professionals to handle the crucial responsibility of determining which projects will best grow our reputation and provide returns for our investors,” says CEO Chris Ranung. “Eric impresses us with the principled foundation of his work. His expertise and filmmaking vision fit well with the goals of our organization and we’re excited that he is joining our effort.”
Mr. Gaunaurd added, “It’s critical we produce more content in Florida. There’s a plethora of great stories and filmmakers out there, and having the opportunity to help decide which ones get produced is something I take very seriously. I’m honored and look forward to diving into the review process soon.”
Florida Film Funds LLC is the umbrella organization for a series of regional film financing funds that are being developed to offset the lack of state tax credit incentives available to the Florida film industry. The funds will provide a financial rationale for producers to once again allocate significant resources to the Sunshine State for major motion picture production.
