New Book Uncovers Truths of Islam and Provides Evidence of Discrepancies

In ‘The Unveiling Origin of Mecca’ Mohammed Alal Khan objectively details Muslim religion from the beginning to the present

Author Mohammed Alal Khan has published “The Unveiling Origin of Mecca: Rise of Ancient Islam in North Arabia,” which educates readers and gives them an accurate understanding of the tenets of Islam. The author explains how the earth was created in six days and details what was created during each day. Khan accredits all his information to the Quran.

The audience is informed that, during the time of Jared, son of Mahalalel, Pagan worship began to spread. It continued to spread so greatly that a very little amount of people worshiped the “true God.” The author emphasizes the difference between the real and fake Ka’ba, a building in the center of Islam’s most important mosque, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Throughout the book, Khan narrates several stories from the bible and details the geographical locations of many ancient and significant places and routes in the Islamic world, including The King’s Highway, a biblical trading route that existed east of the Jordan River and the Dead Sea.

“By reading this book, Muslims will find clarity in their history and religion and will be able to follow the right path of worship,” Khan said. “The truth always comes to light, and it is revealed in these pages.”

Khan maintains a tone of objectivity throughout the book. Even though he is a Muslim scholar, he provides information from several sources besides Islamic. Ultimately, “The Unveiling Origin of Mecca” is a detailed exposition of the origin, history and tenets of Islam that touches on all the relevant aspects of the religion.

Debut Book in Thrilling New Murder Mystery Series is Released

Author H.F. Beaumont presents “Descending the Spiral Staircase” a suspenseful and engaging new novel that will leave readers in eager anticipation of book two of the series

Inspired by his over 45-year career in the landscape industry and a vision he encountered during a dream, author H.F. Beaumont combined his passion for landscaping design and writing to create a thrilling new murder mystery series revolving around a horrifying discovery made during a home renovation. In “Descending the Spiral Staircase,” the first book in the series, Beaumont introduces readers to the homeowners, John and Marie Albright, as they set out to have their home remodeled with the progress being captured on film by a remodeling magazine. However, things quickly spiral out of control as a simple construction task ends up turning into a murder investigation.

Featuring a hand-drawn map and construction legend designed by Beaumont detailing the layout of the remodel, the book begins with the visual key to help readers better understand where certain events take place throughout the story. What was supposed to be a typical construction task ends up uncovering a buried secret that turns the neighborhood upside down and starts an FBI murder investigation involving stolen bank money, a buried storage shed, a hidden tunnel, and the reconstruction of an unused area to make it a usable space. During an open-house event, the safety of John and Marie becomes at risk when a nosy neighbor leaks news to the press about a bank reward.

“The author does a great job of utilizing both narrative and character growth to really make the story shine brightly throughout the book. The detailed way the author incorporated the landscaping aspect of the character’s arcs really helped elevate the narrative to new heights, utilizing the author’s personal experiences to give the story some authenticity and weight.” – Reviewed by Tony Espinoza for the Pacific Book Review

Get Ready for the Ride of Your Life, as The ABCs of HBCUs Takes Readers on a Front-Row, All-Inclusive Tour of Historically Black Colleges & Universities

From FAMU to Howard, the Divine Nine to Battle of the Bands, children learn about the love, lifestyles, and legacies that built these incredible institutions.

New children’s book celebrates Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, Toni Morrison, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. all attended Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs.) Unfortunately, many children are unaware of these institutions. “The ABCs of HBCUs,” written by Claudia Walker and published by HBCU Prep School, is raising awareness about Black Colleges.

From A to Z, “The ABCs of HBCUs” gives readers a front-row, all-inclusive tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It is the first children’s book to introduce young readers to college campuses like Howard University, Spelman College, Lincoln University and Meharry Medical College.

Readers also learn about time-honored traditions such as the Battle of the Bands, homecoming, and Black fraternities and sororities.

In a recent interview, Walker said, “As a teacher, I know that some students only learn about HBCUs during their senior year of high school, if at all. I want to change that, and ensure that students are exposed to these historical institutions as early as possible.”

Award-winning brand-designer Jessica E. Boyd provided the illustrations for the book. Boyd, a double HBCU alumna, captured and translated the essence of the Black college experience into a language that speaks to young children.

This is a debut book release for Walker and Boyd.

About the Author
Claudia Walker is an Oakland based author, speaker, and teacher whose work has been featured in the New York Times, Essence, and Vogue. As a proud second-generation HBCU graduate, her debut book, The ABCs of HBCUs”, is inspired by her undergraduate experiences at Spelman College.

Heart Transplant Recipient and Sepsis Survivor John Sperzel Shares Inspirational Journey In Courage

Three years ago, John Sperzel’s heart, and his world, were on the brink of stopping. While vacationing in Aruba, he was found unconscious and unresponsive in the wee hours of the night. He was medflighted to Miami, where he spent a week in the cardiac ICU, before he was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Sperzel’s prognosis was grim: He had a very rare and progressively fatal condition that had been diagnosed fewer than 300 times in medical history — most during autopsies. He was officially in the fight of his life and needed a heart transplant to survive.

Courage: Powerful Lessons in Leadership, Strength, and the Will to Succeed is Sperzel’s gripping account of his extraordinary battle to survive, his agonizing wait for a donor heart and the “kiss of death” that almost ended it all.

Throughout his emotional journey, he grappled with knowing that his life depended on someone else’s loss. He promised that if given a second chance, he would pay it forward any way he could.

Courage — part captivating memoir, part inspirational call to action — gives readers a rare glimpse inside the mind of someone who has survived the seemingly unsurvivable. But that’s only part of the story.

Sperzel writes, “It’s not about what happens to you that’s important … it’s who you choose to become as a result of what happens to you that really matters.”

Following a period of deep introspection, Sperzel identified the factors that contributed to his miraculous survival and recovery (and other successes in life): Hard Work, Excellence, Attitude, Resilience and Teamwork. Courage compellingly explores the positive impacts of cultivating and embodying these traits, and offers a duplicatable method to guide readers along their own paths toward fulfillment.

Sperzel’s career evolved into his calling, and he hopes that by sharing his H.E.A.R.T., he can inspire others to follow their passions to their true purposes, and live life as the incredible gift it truly is.

Courage author John Sperzel is President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors at T2 Biosystems. As a healthcare executive, he has built and led high-performance teams at all levels around the world, and acquired companies in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Following his heart transplant in 2017, Sperzel returned to his role as a public company CEO and continues to pursue his lifelong passion to advance life-saving technologies. As a speaker, he shares his amazing story of courage in the face of adversity, along with powerful lessons in leadership, strength and the will to succeed. He plans to donate all proceeds from his book sales to Sepsis Alliance (www.sepsis.org) and Donate Life America (donatelife.net).

‘The Be Books’ Series Offering Social Emotional Learning for Children During Pandemic

Each book from Lauren Grabois Fischer inspires children to be accepting, positive, grateful, and respectful

Author Lauren Grabois Fischer has created a series of children’s books called ‘The Be Books’, which are designed to entertain while also teaching acceptance, positivity, gratefulness, and respect through social-emotional learning. During these difficult times, parents and children need all the empowerment they can get, and Lauren is standing with others to make a difference.

The seven-book series includes “Be Who You Were Meant To Be”, “You Are A Superhero”, “Every So Often A Zebra Has Spots”, “Love Grows Love”, “The Light Within Me”, “Life”, and “The Zoo’s Big News”. The eighth book, “The ABCs To A Mindful Life”, is expected to debut in Spring 2021. Lauren’s books are written to promote social-emotional learning, a process by which children can acquire and apply the skills needed to understand and manage their emotions.

Each book is available in hardcover and paperback formats and includes additional pages in the back with activities and inspiration and discussion pages for further discussing the concepts of acceptance, kindness, and love.

According to Lauren, “One thing that I absolutely love is that my books are used frequently in the classroom and school environment. All of my books are used by many school counselors and teachers around the country. It is so important that we show support for all students and offer books that can help with their emotional well-being. I am so grateful that my books are used in schools as Social Emotional Learning books.”

Her book “Life,” which was released in May 2020, is dedicated to her father-in-law, who passed away due to COVID-19. It is also dedicated to her grandfather who she lost in October 2020. In the back of the book is an excerpt on COVID.

“I believe in a world full of kindness and peace. I want my children and all children to grow up in a world full of accepting, kind, and honorable people. I want all children to believe in themselves and love who they are. And I believe in the power of words. When we speak with our children about difficult topics, we are opening up the conversations that will make this world a better place,” said Lauren.

The pandemic has prevented Lauren from speaking at schools, so she’s now offering virtual school visits to help children grow in their social-emotional learning. More information can be found at https://www.thebebooks.com/.

Kids Read Now partners with North Dakota schools – In-home reading program delivers books to students

Kids Read Now is excited to partner with New Town Public Schools to mail books directly to their students’ homes over the summer. New Town Public Schools is the first school district in North Dakota to partner with Kids Read Now to eliminate learning loss and close the opportunity gap for their students. The number of students coast-to-coast in the Kids Read Now program continues to grow with almost 400,000 books being mailed to students in 2020 alone!

Most students will experience reading skill loss over a typical summer break from school. Creating home libraries is key to preventing a steep learning slide due to summer break and recent extended school closures.

“Parents strongly recommend the comprehensive in-home reading program that engages families, is proven to eradicate the typical summer slide, and helps kids to gain up to 2.5 months of learning,” said Leib Lurie, CEO of Kids Read Now.

The Kids Read Now K-3 summer reading program mails eight new books to students and includes exciting multicultural, fiction, and nonfiction titles loved by children. Mailing books builds ongoing enthusiasm but does not require in-home technology. Each book includes guided discussion questions to help improve reading skills and increase family engagement. The ninth book of beautifully illustrated creative writing prompts concludes the program so children can write their own stories. Best of all, kids keep their new books!

Kids Read Now is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the singular mission to eliminate learning loss for all K-3 students.
