Black Forest Society Presents Pre-Mint NFT Launch Party

An extravagant NFT pre-minting event on Thursday, Sept. 29, at Gala Miami in South Beach, Florida, after the Billboard Latin Music Awards show

Black Forest Society, www.bfsociety.com, a specialized NFT company providing users with unique experiences, specialized cannabis products, and exclusive events, is set to host an extravagant NFT pre-minting event on Thursday, Sept. 29, at Gala Miami in South Beach, Florida, after the Billboard Latin Music Awards show. The event is invite-only with star-studded guests, special appearances, entertainment, and an exclusive red carpet. 

During this inaugural live event, BF Society will draw out Miami’s who’s who from celebrities, influencers, artists, models, and athletes. The event is being hosted by Casper Smart, actor, creative director, and choreographer. Invited and confirmed guests include Mariah Angeliq, Ovi, Randy from Jowell y Randy, and other special guests. 

Throughout the night, there will be experiential activations, special performances, and specialty cocktails to get in on the action. Private tables and packages including exclusive space for six to 10 guests, bottle service, and a designated VIP entry will be available. Local craft cannabis is boosting the market, says industry leader Davide Zaffino

ROSELifeScience introduces Québec’s first cannabis micro-producer

According to ROSELifeScience President & CEO Davide Zaffino, “The people of Québec deserve access to local craft cannabis products, which are remarkable.”

That’s the sentiment behind DLYS, a craft-cannabis brand collective recently launched by ROSE. And it’s working, says Zaffino. The initiative brings together Québec’s regional micro-producers in an effort to share resources and help bring local cannabis to the market.

“DLYS made all this possible,” added Zaffino. “From what we’ve seen so far, it’s been a success.”

Amos, developed by mindiCANNA out of Abitibi, QC, was the first product available under the DLYS moniker, launched in January 2021.

As founders, mindiCANNA’s Carl Richard and Daniel Lessard say they’ve been trying to get their products on Québec shelves for more than four years. Since working with Davide Zaffino and the ROSE LifeScience team, they were able to finally make the move in January 2021.

Lessard says, mindiCANNA knows how to grow cannabis here in optimal ways, and the group is elated to be the first micro-producer on the shelves. So much of this is because of David Zaffino’s team at ROSE and what they did with DLYS.”

Since January, two more local craft-cannabis products have been added to the DLYS portfolio.

“Some of these micro-producers are creating products that rival or even surpass major producers, and we’re determined to help them be seen,” Zaffino explains. “Sure, ROSE LifeScience is a producer of top-quality cannabis products. But, marketing and distribution services are core to our business. It’s part of our mission to help other producers reach their full potential — especially in Québec and especially for Québecers.

“This is how the industry is advancing in a responsible, community-driven way.”

Residents of Québec can now find mindiCANNA’s AMOS along with other DLYS products throughout the province. The next step is to take the brand collective throughout Canada and, one day, to the international market, says Zaffino.

Elias Theodorou: First Professional Athlete to Secure Medical Cannabis Exemption in the United States

Elias Theodorou, MMA fighter and medical cannabis advocate, is the first professional athlete to secure a medical exemption for the use of medical cannabis in professional sport in the United States, after the same achievement in Canada in 2020. The Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) was recently granted in the State of Colorado — the result of years of advocacy and perseverance.

After being granted a TUE in Canada in 2020, Elias competed and won as a ‘cannabis athlete’ in March 2021 at the Rise Fighting Championship 6 against Matt Dwyer. He was able to medicate with cannabis for bilateral neuropathy leading up to his fight — attaining a dominant victory in conjunction with his federally-approved and doctor-prescribed medication.

“Professional sports cause a lot of challenges like injury and pain. Opioids are readily available and often encouraged to help with pain issues. As someone who has bilateral neuropathy, but not interested in consuming opioids, it is important to continuously advocate for the medicinal benefits of cannabis and our right as athletes to be able to utilize it,” details Theodorou.
“If that means me securing my TUE state by state, country by country, then I will; I will do whatever it takes to fight the stigma, and advocate for all individuals,” he defiantly ends.

Erik Magraken, Elias’ Legal Counsel, Managing Partner of MacIsaac & Company and combat sports regulator lawyer, explains: “This is a precedent that Elias is rightfully proud of. He has been fighting the stigma of cannabis in sport and cannabis as medicine for years and getting the first US Athletic Commission to recognize his medical rights in granting a TUE is a huge leap forward that can assist many other athletes.”
