DEPUTY ZHOU JUN: LET DIGITAL ACHIEVEMENTS BENEFIT THE PUBLIC

Zhou Jun, Party secretary of NetEase, an internet giant based in Hangzhou, was interviewed ahead of the fifth session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress on Jan 28.

Zhou said he hoped that the digital economy could benefit the public, replacing confusing numbers with considerate services in Hangzhou.

In recent years, he has been dedicated to developing digital education, smart healthcare, and smart elderly care.

In 2018, NetEase launched a public welfare project known as An LCD Screen, through which the internet giant donated electronic screens to primary and middle schools in remote areas and encouraged teachers across the country to hold online classes for students.

“Distance will no longer be a barrier and students in these areas can now benefit from high-quality educational resources, allowing them to change their destinies,” Zhou said in Hangzhou China.

He is also focusing on elderly care and striving to use technology like the internet of things and artificial intelligence to help senior citizens and their offspring better understand their health.

Zhou also proposed stricter measures on the sharing of health information, as some information from unknown sources may lack evidence and mislead the public.

Steven Kemler Promotes “Two Screens For Teachers” Program For Low-Income Schools

With a donation of 200 monitors to low-income school districts, Steve Kemler, Managing Director of the Stone Arch Group, joined the growing ranks of supporters of school technology initiative Two Screens For Teachers (TSFT). With the COVID-19 crisis accelerating throughout the fall and winter, vast numbers of students and teachers in the United States have been forced into an online learning model like never before. According to TSFT, “a second screen let’s teachers see and interact with their students on one screen, while conducting lesson plans on the other.”

New York, NY (PRUnderground) February 3rd, 2021

“Teachers are being challenged to continue to deliver a high quality of learning under extreme circumstances,” said Kemler.  “The technology gap is especially significant in lower income school districts, and Two Screens For Teachers is helping to close that gap. Children’s education has been a focus of the Stone Arch Group, and we encourage others to join in and help.”

Two Screens for Teachers is an independent, fiscally sponsored project of DonorsChoose, a 501©(3) taxexempt organization. Their goal is to distribute 250,000 monitors by February 2021, and they have already helped over 22,000 teachers and over 500,000 students. But there are 180,871 teachers on their waiting list and more aid is needed. Principal Stowell of Greenwood Elementary in Seattle, Washington added, “Second monitors are lifesavers. Imagine teaching 24 students and juggling lesson plans on a 13 inch laptop screen.”

Become a donor today and help America’s teachers in our low income districts to better serve their students. Donate now at https://www.TwoScreensForTeachers.org/donate.

David Israel Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Tourism

David Israel has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After working as a bar manager for the Neptune Theater between 2012 and 2017, Mr. Israel decided to pursue his work with the Twin Peaks Tour on a full-time basis. When he was just 16 years old, he became incredibly passionate about the original series of “Twin Peaks,” written by David Lynch. As a result, he frequently searched for filming locations on outings with his friends. During the late-2010s, a “Twin Peaks” revival series aired and, bolstered by the renewed interest and his lifelong love of the show, Mr. Israel organized a tour to share that love with others.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Israel earned his high school diploma through Mercer Island High School and completed some trade school coursework. He later earned his licenses as a pilot and a massage practitioner. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, he has been affiliated with the Screen Actors Guild. Outside of his primary responsibilities with the Twin Peaks Tour, Mr. Israel has also dedicated his time and efforts to those less fortunate as a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Although his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Israel is most proud of establishing his own business. For his excellence in the industry, he was presented with the Top Attraction Award for Twin Peaks Tour through Lux Life Magazine in 2019, as well as a Traveler’s Choice Award through Trip Advisor in 2020. In the coming years, Mr. Israel intends to continue finding success in his current career path while remaining open to new opportunities.

Pandemic Safety Training from Academy for Hospitality Arts Helps Make Hospitality Safer Than Ever Before

The Academy for Hospitality Arts (AHA) has launched COVID-19 safety training courses to help hospitality workers prepare for re-openings. Foodservice professionals can now ensure hotels and restaurants reopen and remain open safely. Even while vaccine distribution is underway, COVID-19 remains an issue for dining establishments.

The AHA has been working behind the scenes to:

  • educate service industry workers on how to mitigate the spread of the virus
  • train front-of-house management with the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and compliance
  • make sure restaurants, hotels, and events can re-open and remain open safely

The AHA has overhauled its education to meet the most stringent health standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

There are two specific programs to ensure an individual is ready to get back to work:

1 – COVID-19 Readiness Program (CRC) for wait staff and servers

2 – COVID Hospitality Compliance Officer (CHCO), for management

Both programs prepare hospitality professionals for:

  • the increase in new daily protocols from cleaning and disinfecting
  • the increase in protection of customers
  • conflict resolution protocols
  • identifying symptoms, isolation precautions, and much more

“COVID-19 safety standards have raised the bar like never before,” says Michael DiPeri, President and Founder of AHA. “These programs will increase the confidence of both food service workers and the customers we serve.”

The CRC and CHCO safety training mission is to reinforce a culture of safety for staff and guests and help businesses avoid costly fines.

“People are ready to get back to their families, celebrations, and life as it was before COVID. Caution and compliance will be at the forefront of everyone’s mind,” says Stephen Ruggieri, Director of Training & Development. “Our graduates serve as the frontline compliance officers to make sure everyone from food servers and bussers to bartenders and management are protecting customers and the safety of everyone.”

Anyone interested in learning more about the AHA’s COVID-19 safety training courses can register for the live training or visit the AHA website for details.

Register for live training at: https://lovegevity.typeform.com/c/XLNL557I.

Live online classes begin January 26, 2021, and will be available online and instructor-led through accredited colleges and universities as part of a partnership between Lovegevity University and the Academy for Hospitality Arts.
