Company’s E-Power Efforts Focused on Helping Dealers Enter Rapidly Growing E-Bike Market With Over 200 New Products

Tucker Powersports, one of the country’s largest powersports product distributors, has launched an extensive catalog of products which will equip motorcycle and ATV dealers with the products necessary to succeed in the electric bicycle market. The Tucker e-Power product line includes electric bicycles, electric scooters, riding gear, apparel and related equipment. The worldwide electric bike industry has experienced tremendous growth and is expected to grow by over 50% and reach nearly $35 billion in 2026.

“We are taking steps to help our dealer network broaden their product offering which will draw in a new audience looking for fun-to-ride bikes and scooters, along with the clothing and gear that make the experience even better,” said Brad Turner, Tucker’s VP of Sales.  “Our launch of the e-Power line with over 200 products makes it one of our largest new product programs ever.”

Tucker advised their dealers of their new e-Power program and has provided a full digital catalog of products that include hard-to-get electric mountain bikes, electric scooters, helmets, gloves, apparel, elbow and knee pads and braces, tires, lubricants, cleaners, tools, locks, alarms, handlebars, carriers and straps. Many of the apparel products are available for adults and children. Several of the new products are sourced from current Tucker partners like 100%, Muc-Off and Strider, along with bicycle tools and equipment from Tucker’s BikeMaster brand. Tucker will also implement training and support programs for their e-Power dealers, including additional point of sale supplies and digital marketing materials.

The most notable additions to the Tucker product line include a selection of high-performance electric mountain bikes from Italian motorcycle and bicycle maker, Fantic, and a broad range of electric scooters from Dualtron and Minimotors Speedway. Tucker is now the US distributor for Fantic e-bikes, a company founded in Italy in 1968 which has earned loyal fans throughout Europe.

Off-road bicyclists have shown particular interest in the five high-end products from Fantic. These Italian-made models include the XEF1.9, XTF 1.5, XTF 1.5 Carbon, XMF 1.7 and XMF 1.7 Carbon.  All five bikes feature name-brand components, full suspension and disc brakes.  Each bike is available in several frame sizes and the premium models include carbon fiber frames. All feature 36-volt, 250W mid-drive motor from Brose. Battery capability varies by model and retail prices range from $5190 to $7990.

Once considered just for kids, electric scooters have evolved to meet the needs of all types of riders. With capabilities that run from a fun commuter platform to serious off-road performer, and ranges of up to 80 miles per charge, these aren’t the old aluminum units that are in the back of many garages. Tucker’s offering of 16 scooters from Dualtron and Minimotors Speedway include options like hydraulic disc brakes, ABS, no-puncture inflatable tires and LED lights. Retail prices run from $1029 to $4690. Tucker’s trained sales reps will assist dealers in ordering a product mix that meets the needs of their customers.

Gemstone | Building a Marketplace and Digitizing the Physical World’s Gemstone into Collectible NFTs

The Gemstone NFT project is built to facilitate a robust infrastructure for the NFTs. These Gemstone-based NFTs will be able to transact via a secure, transparent, customizable, and no-censorship exchange platform under safe contracts. The contracts are decentralized and ensure a smooth and streamlined exchange of NFTs. The Gemstone token (GST) will ensure decentralized governance and also undergo burn sequences to check the supply.

Building an Open Ecosystem for NFTs
As an evolving system, Gemstone works as a marketplace that collects rare Gemstone NFTs via its trustless blockchain technology. With this, Gemstone wants to make the rare collectibles non-perishable that will remain with the user forever.

Moreover, to reflect the truest expression of the NFTs, the Gemstone project aims to designate the gemstones with a hierarchy. This hierarchy is based on their scarcity to represent true value akin to what they might have in the physical world.

The users can also personalize the gemstone NFTs making them reflect the essence of true ownership. With this policy, the Gemstone project developers enable the users and owners to become a part of the gemstone NFT.

Similarly, the users can also give back to the community by supporting social causes and participating in charities. The users can contribute to build shelters and send help in other ways possible. The Gemstone project has predetermined Gemstone shelters. A prefixed portion of the sales proceeds from every purchase from the Gemstone marketplace will go towards the Gemstone shelters.

Also, the Gemstone project has a partnership with other projects, and the community is free to buy NFTs from the partner platforms. Purchasing through the partner platforms is beneficial as the users won’t have to pay any transaction and gas fees.

GST Token Is the Primary Asset for the Community
The Gemstone Token or GST is a BEP-20 token with an initial supply of 15,000,000. These tokens are already minted. Once the project is deployed, there will be no minting, limiting the token supply giving the community an opportunity to gain from its limited supply. Out of the several purposes of the GST, the most important is using the token to put forth and participate in proposals about the future of the platform.

The GST gives users the power to vote and share their proposals with the rest of the community. In another development, the users can also share their tokens with others to give them the power to vote, especially those with less than 1% of the total GST supply, which is a benchmark to draft and submit proposals. The users also need at least 4% of the total GST supply to vote in favor of the proposal and build a quorum.

Three-Tier Staking System
The users can stake the GST in one of three ways to earn more tokens. The first method is simple staking, wherein users can stake the existing GST balance to earn more. The second form is liquidity providers (LP) staking. The users will get rewarded for stalking the GST-BNB liquidity provider tokens to the contract.

This will help the users sustain and grow their share on the Gemstone platform while decreasing the supply. The third type of staking function is operational in the form of farming on the platform in collaboration with other projects.

About Gemstone NFT
Gemstone is an NFT marketplace giving the users a secure, trustless, and decentralized way to trade in rare collectible gemstones. The Gemstone oriented NFTs have the same value as the gemstone shall have in the physical world. It is a community-based platform that works and grows with the community. The community has decision-making power and can decide the future course of action.

How to Prepare for a Telemedicine Appointment; American Academy of Dermatology

Tips from board-certified dermatologists

Consumer demand for virtual health care has exploded during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to telemedicine, patients with new concerns and those with chronic conditions can have an appointment with a board-certified physician from the comfort and safety of their homes. According to dermatologists from the American Academy of Dermatology — a specialty with more than two decades of experience in telemedicine — even after the pandemic subsides, the convenience and efficiency of virtual health care visits means telemedicine is here to stay.

“Telemedicine is a wonderful way to connect with your physician, especially for busy families, those with demanding work schedules, and those who live in remote areas,” says board-certified dermatologist Jennifer David, DO, MBA, FAAD, who founded her own virtual dermatology practice. “However, just as you would prepare for an in-person doctor’s visit, it’s important to spend a few minutes preparing for a virtual visit in order to make your appointment as valuable and useful as it can be.”

To help patients get the most out of their telemedicine appointments, Dr. David recommends the following tips:

1.  Before your appointment, contact your insurance provider to find out if your plan covers telemedicine appointments. Many insurance providers have updated their plans to cover telemedicine visits during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it’s important to find out what type of telemedicine visits are covered and who can deliver them — such as your dermatologist or someone specified by your insurance provider.

2.  Gather essential medical information. This is especially important if you have a telemedicine appointment with a doctor you haven’t seen before. Knowing your medical history will help your doctor make a diagnosis, decide treatment options and prescribe medicine, if necessary. Ask your doctor’s office if they have any forms you need to fill out before your appointment.

In addition, make a list of the following before your appointment:

  • Medications you take
  • Major illnesses or surgeries you have had
  • Previous health problems
  • When your current symptoms began
  • Your allergies
  • Previous health problems or illnesses that your family members have had, such as cancer, heart disease, or diabetes

You will also want to ask your doctor’s office what type of telemedicine visit will be conducted and how:

  • For video visits, you will be sent a website link to connect at the time of your visit.
  • For telephone visits, you may be given instructions on when to expect a call from your doctor.
  • For visits through photos only, contact your doctor’s office to find out when and how to send your pictures. You may also be asked to send photos for video and telephone visits.

3.  Write down any questions you may have. Doing this before your appointment helps you remember everything you plan to talk to your doctor about and make the most of your appointment.

4.  Take pictures. If your concern is something that can be seen on the skin, hair or nails, take clear pictures of the area(s) you need examined. Just like an in-person doctor’s appointment, if you need to have your face or nails examined, remember to remove all make-up or nail polish before taking any pictures. Regardless of how your virtual appointment is conducted (video, telephone, etc.), it can be very helpful to send photos of your skin to your doctor. Your doctor may provide you with instructions to send photos.

To take pictures in the highest-possible quality, follow these tips:

  • Make sure your pictures are well lit. Whenever possible, take your pictures in natural light. If natural light isn’t possible, use another light source, such as a book light or flashlight. Be mindful of shadows or glare on the area(s) of interest.
  • Take multiple pictures, including one of each side of the area(s) you need examined. Make sure to show the entire body part where the affected area is present.
  • Take pictures to compare. For example, if you have a spot on your hand, take pictures of both hands so your doctor can see how that area usually looks. Make sure you also take a close-up and far-away picture of all areas involved so your doctor can compare.
  • Get help. If you live with someone, ask them to take pictures of hard-to-reach areas, like the back. If you live alone, use a mirror to make sure you are taking pictures of the right spot.
  • If your picture turns out blurry, delete and retake it, as a clear picture is critical for an accurate exam.

5.  Avoid irritating your skin before your appointment. Try to avoid doing things that could change the appearance of your skin before your telemedicine appointment. Some examples of things to avoid before your appointment include taking a hot shower, rubbing or picking at your skin, or applying skin care products.

6.  Find a quiet and private space to have your appointment. Make sure you can connect to the internet in that space and minimize any distractions, such as background noise. If your concern is something visible, make sure the space has the best lighting possible.

“While telemedicine can’t always replace an in-person visit with your dermatologist, it can help in times when you can’t get to their office,” says Dr. David. “After your appointment, depending on your condition, your dermatologist may schedule another appointment with you — either in-person or another telemedicine appointment — to see if your condition is improving. Make sure to keep any follow-up appointments that your dermatologist recommends in order to stay healthy.”

These tips are demonstrated in “How to Prepare for a Telemedicine Visit,” a video posted to the AAD website and YouTube channel. This video is part of the AAD’s “Video of the Month” series, which offers tips people can use to properly care for their skin, hair and nails.

To find a board-certified dermatologist in your area who offers telemedicine appointments, visit aad.org/findaderm and do an advanced search for “teledermatology” as the practice focus.

Miami Entrepreneur Juan Munoz Disrupts The Content Marketing Landscape With Video Advertising

Juan Munoz is disrupting the world of content marketing with dynamic video advertising that seeks to fuse aspirational visions with visual art. Though he is quite established now, it has required a lot of hard work and staying at the forefront of technology in order to get there.

How do you change the world? If you’re Juan Munoz, you do it with dynamic content and one audience member at a time. Of course, with hundreds of thousands of followers, that becomes much easier than it would first appear. Then again, Munoz is adept at making things look easy when they actually require a ton of work, perseverance, and connections in the industry but also with the broader world. Indeed, it is this perception of events, thoughts, actions, and people around him that Munoz has channeled into a content marketing campaign that disrupts the video advertising landscape while also simultaneously pointing the way forward for a new paradigm in the field.

Founder of social media marketing company Sky Ten Marketing, Juan Munoz also dabbles in film on the side. Munoz stresses that Sky Ten Marketing looks for the core elements in a company’s brand identity and then highlights them through video media. Companies that want to fuse their aspirational visions with their marketing messaging would do well to learn from his disruptive style that not only works but does so on a reliable and consistent basis.

Channeling the spirit of entrepreneurs past, Munoz recounts how this vibe and energy has permeated his life since the very beginning, describing a life surrounded by entrepreneurial people.

“Growing up, I’ve been filming with entrepreneurs and other like-minded people like me. So I caught on to the game really quick as every entrepreneur had a different story that I could learn from. The passion, motivation and changing people’s life felt as many businesses wanted to take their presence online. I immediately took action to bring my business into place helping thousands of brands and companies upscale their sales through my social media presence and films,” he recalls.

“Success isn’t built overnight, but patience is key to getting there as long as you are persistent with the passion you live for everyday. This road has just started, but all I can say is that I’ve been a good mile down the road already and it was bumpy. This means we have to keep moving forward no matter what obstacles get in the way. I’ve been editing videos since I was 12 years old, and I spent most of my younger days inside because it was something I really loved while growing up. My parents had a different vision for success. I had to stop my passion for film and editing. I then realized right away that if I followed my dream as a director and filmmaker, I would be much happier and would make more money with a fulfilled dream. I had changed my profession many times in high school, but got to where I wanted to be all because I chose to face my fears and everyone saw big hopes and started to believe in me after I put out work and gave it one hundred percent hustle and dedication.”

One of the biggest things Munoz stresses when he talks about his successes is that they were built upon the backs of many disappointments over the years. Though the journey is a difficult one, the road was made much easier due to his love for the field and his passion for connecting individuals to broader movements in the cultural landscape.

CIT GAP Funds Invests in Linebird to Bring the Unmanned Systems Revolution to High Voltage Power Lines

Company’s use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to make contact with live power lines improves safety and reduces costs of grid maintenance and monitoring

The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) today announced that CIT GAP Funds has invested in Richmond, Va.-based Linebird, developer of an unmanned aerial systems (UAS) solution that makes contact with live power lines, addressing the safety concerns of grid maintenance and monitoring. Linebird is transforming the way power transmission infrastructure is inspected and maintained in a safer way with the use of drone technology. The company will use this investment to prepare its technology for product launch by the end of the year.

Power line inspection and maintenance is one of the most dangerous jobs in the U.S., with lineman fatality rates close to those of law enforcement and construction workers. Specifically, work on high-altitude, energized infrastructure is the most hazardous part of line work and requires capital equipment such as helicopters for crew access. Linebird is addressing these risks by offering UAS payload systems that enable unmanned work in contact with live lines, greatly reducing cost and liability of operations and maintenance.

“Linebird is transforming the way power transmission infrastructure is inspected and maintained. We are reducing risk factors for work that is traditionally handled by a manned crew, which can now be done remotely or autonomously,” said Michael Beiro, Founder and CEO of Linebird. “Our mission is to continue innovating and improving UAS technology so that jobs such as manually running diagnostics and conducting repairs on live power lines can be done without human contact. We thank CIT GAP Funds for their support and financial investment, which is contributing to our plans for rapid growth.”

Linebird’s modular suspended payload system allows direct-contact, live-line work without the high-risk use of helicopters and linemen. The solution can adjust to accommodate many industrial drones, and the system can adopt other linemen tools to do inspection, maintenance and repair. Their first use case adapts the SensorLink OhmStikTM, a well-known lineman’s tool for evaluating power line connections, to UAS deployment, providing an innovative way to enable power grid reliability and resilience. This allows existing manned utility crews to focus on higher value and lower risk operations.

“With jobs in the utilities industry being one of the top 10 most fatal in the country, Linebird is well-positioned to address a critical market need. Their team is passionate about making a positive impact on this industry by advancing technology to make these jobs safer and more efficient,” said Marco Rubin, Senior Investment Director, CIT GAP Funds. “Linebird’s recent recognition as a finalist in the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Incubatenergy Labs 2021 Pitch Contest is a positive sign of more good things to come. We look forward to following their journey as they continue to grow and gain more traction.”

About Linebird
Linebird is working to transform the way power transmission infrastructure is inspected and maintained, expanding the capabilities of unmanned systems to take work that was once costly and life-threatening and do it quickly, cheaply, and remotely with the power of automation. We are currently conducting lab and field tests to demonstrate that unmanned systems can bring lineman tools in contact with live transmission lines through our patent-pending process and readying our technology for field deployment. A popular RV community that connects RVers with private homeowners who allow them to park for free now has an app available in the App Store and Google Play.

Boondockers Welcome, a popular RV community that connects RVers with private homeowners who allow them to park for free, has launched its first mobile app available on both iOS and Android devices. Now access to free RV parking is made even easier and available while on the road.

“With most of our members out on the road traveling we knew that a mobile app was a must,” said co-founder and CTO Anna Maste. “Now our members can search for available host locations while traveling and even request a stay through our app. We’re expecting this year to be an even bigger RV year than 2020 and we’re so glad we can bring this app to our community. Many campgrounds are already booked for summer 2021 and we continue to be a good alternative to crowded campgrounds.”

A recent app review from Relax RV Podcast exclaims, “We have used Boondockers Welcome for almost 3 years now. We love using them to find places to stay with our RV and especially love meeting fantastic people. Now with this app it’s even easier. All our past stays have been populated into the app, and searching is even easier with the app.”

Boondockers Welcome is a digital platform that lets members arrange overnight stays with each other for free while traveling through an area. Connecting through the platform allows RVers to travel more economically and, in peak season, find an option when campgrounds may be full. Hosts consist of property owners or businesses that allow RVers to boondock on their land, with many offering electric and water options. It’s a great and safe way for fellow RVers or for people curious about the RV lifestyle to meet while also providing a safe place to park for one night or up to five nights.
